TYCO’s Claim to Amtrak Fame

The 2nd Quarter 2021 edition of HO Collector returns to Amtrak’s origin in 1971 and the first models produced with the rail passenger carrier’s image. Co-editor Tony Cook presents TYCO’s F9A and streamlined passenger car models decorated for Amtrak in the article, “TYCO’s Claim to Amtrak Fame.”

ABOVE: There’s no matching prototype Amtrak passenger car livery to my knowledge. This light blue window band and white background pointless arrow logo with Amtrak name over it are from TYCO’s design department and not Amtrak’s.
