AHM’s EMD SD40 Diesel
The first production HO-scale model of Electro-Motive Division’s (EMD) SD40 diesel locomotive arrived in the late 1970s and came from Yugoslavia and appeared in AHM’s catalog.

Santa Fe F7A Diesel by Penn Line
Every hobby manufacturer, both current and past, seems to have offered a Santa Fe F-unit model and Penn Line was no exception. Penn Line produced its HO-scale reproduction of EMD’s popular F7 diesel in the early 1960s in powered and dummy versions.

Gem Models SDP40F Diesel
The first HO-scale reproduction of Amtrak’s six-axle SDP40F passenger diesel arrived at the same time the prototypes went to work. Gem Models delivered its brass SDP40F to North America in 1974. The model came from Kumata of Japan.

Atlantic Coast Line SW7 by Revell
The Electro-Motive SW7 diesel locomotive saw production from 1949 to 1951 with nearly 500 examples going to work for railroads across the U.S. The first plastic model to reproduce this versatile 1,200-hp diesel switcher came from Revell in 1956.
